Life transitions, including pregnancy and postpartum adjustment, managing tough life events and feeling "stuck" and trying to figure out what's next.

Anxiety and depression

Relationship difficulties with partners, family members, friends or co-workers, including challenges with communication or poor or disrupted social support. Together, we will focus on increasing your ability to help your loved ones understand you better,  and increase your ability to ask for help and communicate effectively.

Personal growth work : collaboratively, working to better know and develop the self through understanding the impact of earlier life experiences, identifying stories you may have told yourself to survive, and navigating a knowing in the body that may allow for developing a fuller and truer expression of self in the world.

Approach

I have specialized training in draw from a combination of:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) - an effective and well-researched therapy that helps one heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences through rewiring memories. Specialized training in attachment and developmental traumas. EMDR Trained, June 2022; Certification training complete May 2024.

  • Focusing Oriented Psychotherapy, a mind-body technique of accessing and developing awareness and relationships with our inner state, integrated into psychotherapy, certification in progress with Seattle Focusing Institute.

  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy -a structured form of therapy used to address life stage transitions, relational conflict, grief, and role disputes through making meaning of difficult life events and improving communication, Level B Certification.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that incorporates mindfulness, promotes embracing difficult thoughts and feelings, reframing unhelpful thinking, and choosing to live life more in line with our values.

  • I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with mindfulness , Solution -Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and ego states work.
